Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

I am a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan, so of course I loved the outcome of one of the best Super Bowl games ever played. This morning someone on TV was talking about how the National Anthem was lip-synced from an earlier recording. They wanted it to be "perfect".

This got me to think about how we have become obsessed with perfection. I am wondering how many quarterbacks and wide receivers could have made the last 2 touchdowns. I think in practice almost every team has players that can make the type of plays we saw. Does that make them perfect? If so, almost every NFL player would have to get into the NFL Hall of Fame.

BUT in sports what makes players GREAT, is the ability to perform in the big games. You know when the chips are down. One of the biggest parts of this greatness is overcoming challenges and sometimes even your own failures.

So trade your fear for faith, and stop worrying about perfection and failure. They are both totally overrated!
